Hi Everyone! We're putting the last touches on The Lost Heir and can also report exact on-sale dates.
It's going on sale first as a Nook E-book. The powers-that-be at Barnes & Noble got really excited about the book when we told them our plans and said they could do some great promotion for us all over their massive website if we'd be willing to put the book in their Nook First program. We were thrilled to accept because this will be a great way to let lots of people know about the Gryphon Chronicles! So, it goes on sale for you Nookers (can we say that??) first on Monday June 25.
Kindlers and IPadders, etc. (everyone else) will get it one month later, on Tuesday July 24. Last but certainly not least the trade paperback will be available on August 1.
You may have also seen that we are offering a great discount on pre-orders of 4 or more copies. So if you want to read it with your friends, you can get an extra-great deal ordering direct. Use the form on the Orders page.
* * ALSO: WE'LL START POSTING SAMPLE CHAPTERS EVERY FRIDAY STARTING IN MID-JUNE AND CONTINUING ALL THE WAY THROUGH TIL THE PAPERBACK RELEASE DAY. SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER TO RECEIVE A REMINDER WHEN THE CHAPTERS ARE LIVE. THANKS!
Whew! Ok, with all that business handled, now we can talk about fun stuff. *g* If you were (or are!) in London right now, you could go see the old timey puppet shows like Jake and his friends would watch at fairs and markets because the world's most famous puppets, Punch and Judy, are celebrating their 350th Birthday this year!!! Find out more at: http://www.timeout.com/london/around-town/event/234287/covent-garden-may-fayre-puppet-festival-2012
As puppets go, Punch was infamous for causing trouble wherever he went and is described as a lovable sociopath. (Know anyone like that?? G thinks she dated some people that fit that description before meeting E.)
The program for the Puppet festival says Punch will deliver a message to churchgoers on Sunday from the pulpit of St. Paul's Cathedral. Wow! Wish we could be there to hear this sage puppet's words of wisdom.
Don't know who Punch is? Here's a quickie vid to explain his origins,.
(Psst: Want to know a secret? Look at the background in this little video. This is the exact spot in London where Chapter One of The Lost Heir takes place!! So consider it a sneak peek of Jake's opening scene!)
And now, here's a little sample of a Punch and Judy Show from a previous puppet show at Covent Garden. In the first part of the vid, Punch is helpfully "babysitting" the baby for Judy, but halfway in, naughty Punch reverts to his old bad habits of brawling with his wife. Such behavior! Let's hope he's amended his ways for the modern world. In the meanwhile, enjoy! :)
