As many of you know, "G" has been a successful author for 15 years, hitting bestseller lists since 2001. For me "E", this is my first experience with being published. Well, the actual finished, final, edited, read and reread version just arrived in the mail this week. If you ever wondered what it's like to be holding the book in your hands that YOU created, let me tell you, it's AMAZING. This classic clip from Steve Martin was pretty close to my own reaction when I opened the box that contained the actual trade paperback version of THE LOST HEIR.

Remember when we older folk used to actually look phone numbers up in The Phonebook. Cant actually remember the last time. Hmmmm! I think Steve was actually subdued compared to my reaction. I'm glad "G" wasn't video taping it! I hate to admit it, but THE JERK was one of my favorite movies as a wee child. Explains a lot about my sense of humor:)
It's absolutely thrilling when your first book arrives, but also extremely nerve wracking. I imagine it's a similiar feeling to when a new baby comes home. All kinds of questions pop up instantly, scary things. For example: "What if there are typos that I missed?" or "Is the cover too dark?" or "Do I look wierd in the author photo?" It can drive you a bit batty. Fortunately "G" is very good at setting me straight! Let it go. Wooooosa...
Well, a new chapter of THE LOST HEIR is posted. Last week's contest is officially closed. We have a winner! Congratulations! This week's contest is a question from our latest sneek peak - Chapter 4: Dani O'Dell.
What trick did Jake make Teddy perform to receive a crumb of mincemeat pie?
Autographed paperback copy of THE LOST HEIR to the winner.
Enjoy your weekend, all ~ and don't melt in the heatwave!!!
