As you surely know by now, THE LOST HEIR is officially on sale at Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble in both e-book and trade paperback formats. Thanks to all of you who purchased it already! We hope you enjoy the story!
So here's the question for today's Foley Fridays blog: Did you ever come across any really weird coincidences? We have, lately!
Three things came across our path that bore an eerie resemblance to stuff in The Lost Heir. It's wierd when that happens. Check this out!
1. Real London Pickpockets!
The news reported that today's modern pickpockets are bothering the tourists going to the London Olympics. Good thing Jake learns his lesson or he might've ended up like one of these guys!
2. A Real-Life Oboedire Spell??
We also just this week heard about a wicked South American plant which, incredibly enough, produces some kind of chemical compound known as Devil's Breath.
Now this may be an "urban legend" (i.e. big fat lie) but they say that when this compound is processed into a powder, bad guys will blow a puff this dust into an unsuspecting person's face. Though the victim remains alert and conscious, they supposedly lose all their free will and have no choice but to do whatever they are told!
Waldrick would sure love to get his hands on this. Of course, it is said to be lethal if someone is given too high of a dose. The plant grows wild in Ecuador and Colombia and other countries around the Amazon jungles and river basin, and it's highly illegal. And here we thought we were only making stuff up!
3. The Confectioner's Emporium... Right Here In Our Own Town!
Well, this is a much happier subject than the other two rather alarming stories. We are so lucky that there is actually a real, live, chocolate factory right in our own hometown. It was sort of the inspiration for the Confectioner's Emporium, but sometimes the owners of the real candy shop outdo themselves.
We had to stop in there to buy some Dark Chocolate Truffles for a family member's birthday, (nooo, it wasn't for me... honest!) and look what they had set up in the gift shop! A wonderful, semi-edible candy carousel with white chocolate horses. Looks like it came right out of the Confectioner's Emporium in the little village of Gryphondale! Oooohhh, ahhhhh... Candy. It makes a person happy. *g* (Take that, food police.)
So there you have it. Three odd co-incky-dinks all in the past week. It's always interesting when life imitates art - especially art that you created!
Have any weird coincidences ever happened to you?
Tell us your story here, otherwise, come on back and see us next week for the next Foley Friday. :)
